Competition Rules and Draw Information |
|
Entry requirements. This pairs competition is for male members of the invited clubs – maximum handicap 21, players whose handicap is greater than 21 will have to play off 21. The first three rounds will be on a knockout basis, the initial draw will be the one on which the other rounds are based, eg. Winners of Match 1 will play winners of Match 2 etc. Details of the draw for each round will be displayed in each club. No substitutes can be made once a pair has played a match. Each round will give ‘home’ competitors a minimum time in which to make contact with their opponents. Course courtesy applies – but not for practice rounds. Tees of the day to be used. The last 16 pairs will compete in a Betterball Stableford off 7/8 handicap at Denton Golf Club on Sunday September 18th followed by a presentation buffet. First names drawn for each round play at home and they must contact their opponents within the specified limits from the start of the round to offer four alternative dates, one of which must be a weekend date. Failure to do so could mean elimination. If away players cannot play on dates offered they too face elimination. In the first four rounds rules of betterball matchplay (full difference in handicap) apply except that away players who are not on their own course start one hole up before playing the first hole. If a match is level after 18 holes sudden death holes must be played. The winning pair must contact Geoff Garnett tel/fax 0161 881 7550 or email ggggarnett@aol.com as soon as possible (but not after 10pm). Please check that your phone number is correct. Let Geoff Garnett & your opponents know the correct one as soon as possible. |
Round Two Begins on July 3 and Finishes on August 10th |
Limit Date to contact opponents is JULY 30. DON’T DELAY CONTACT OPPONENTS IMMEDIATELY |
|
If away players have not heard from their opponents near to the limit date it is often sensible to ring them and find out what is happening- the aim of the competition is to play the games. |
