Romiley proved to be many happy returns
for the father and son team of Mike and Danny Wardrop from Didsbury once
again they tamed the course to land top spot as they did a year ago this
year carding 43 Points to win on a cpo from the Dave Smith Jimmy O'Reilly
pairing. In accepting the prize from Andrew Mike Wardop said without Danny coming in on a few holes we would not have been able to retain out crown, however closer scrutiny of the card would suggest that Danny played a bigger part in the victory than at first suggested, as the card reveals a superb 39 Points by Danny to take the top Pro's prize.

The amateur as will as the Pro's also
found the great condition of the Romiley course to their licking as a host
of good scores were recorded with the winners Ian Taylor and John Riley from
Swinton Park coming home with 42 Points a point clear of Brian Carroll
Bolton Old and Mick Wallis from Hart Common with James Woodcock and Martin
Dwyer Two shots back. As always Romiley entertained their guest with superb food by Heather and her staff and a course in excellent condition and warm welcome extended to all it's Alliance guests. |
