Inter-Club Team Rules Season 2006 |

The Association shall be known as
the East Cheshire Inter-Club Shield and shall be administered by a Committee
consisting of a Chairman, Hon. Secretary, Assistant Hon. Secretary/Treasurer
and two delegates from different Clubs, these delegates to serve for two
years and be nominated from their Clubs from playing members of Handicap
teams. (Clubs taken in alphabetical order). All Clubs to be affiliated to the Cheshire County Association. It is a condition of entry that all Clubs entering the East Cheshire Shield allow the teams involved in Semi-final or Final rounds of the Competitions to play a practice round free of charge. Each Club to pay an initial Entrance fee of £10 and an annual Subscription of £5 per team entry. Teams of seven players shall be chosen in order of their L.G.U. handicap at any given time. The first team to be entered by a Club shall be a B Shield team. Thereafter Clubs can enter A Shield and/or Plate teams or Business Ladies. The criteria for entering an A team is that a Club should have 5 or more players with an L.G.U. handicap of 15 or less. Players with a handicap of 15 or above to play off 15. Clubs running two or more teams must start their teams in order of handicap according to the availability of players. An A team player cannot play on a B or Plate team. A B team player can play on an A team but not on a Plate team. A Plate team player can play on an A or B team if required to do so. Where there are two or more players on the same playing handicap, the placing of these players is decided on their exact handicaps. The limit of handicap for B Shield teams to be 30 L.G.U., with no limit of handicap for the Plate, but nobody to play off more than 30. No player to receive more than l stroke per hole. If matches go to extra holes, strokes are repeated. A player must play for her Home Club (i.e. that from which she receives her Handicap Certificate). Handicap Certificates to be produced at all matches. Computer Print-Outs will be accepted. The handicap of each players is to be placed against her name in all matches. Shots given in matches will be three-quarters of the difference in handicap. Any player playing off an incorrect higher handicap or in the wrong handicap order will be disqualified. Should any player fail to be on the first tee within half an hour after the time fixed for the first couple to start, her opponent on the list shall score a walk-over. Electric Golf Karts are BANNED from this Competition, with the exception of REGISTERED disabled competitors and at the discretion of the Home Club. If thunder and lightning occurs during a match, i.e. in the immediate area, the teams must vacate the Course and take shelter. If it persists they are allowed to wait the maximum of one hour. If unable to resume play, the match will be postponed. Captains of the Day will either confirm resumption of play or fix another date. Sheltering is allowed during matches by the mutual consent of the individuals in each match. A match may be postponed: (a) if the Course is officially pronounced unplayable, or if the Captains of the Clubs or their deputies agree that play is impossible due to the weather conditions, but both teams must appear, in order to make a mutually agreeable decision (b) if a County fixture or local public event is occurring on the same day. Team walk-overs are not permitted. Clubs are reminded that a full team need not necessarily be played but a minimum of FOUR players MUST play, absent players scoring a loss for their team. The penalty for a breach of this Rule is a ban from the Competition for that team the following year. The opponents of a Club unable to field a team shall score a win, being given 4 matches (in cases of a Count-back). The defaulting team shall score no matches. In any case of exceptional difficulty, application for extension may be made to the Hon. Secretary. All protests must be made in writing and can only be lodged by the Captain within one week of the match and she shall previously acquaint the Captain of the opposing team of her intention to appeal and her grounds for so doing. The Club Captain, or her nominee, of any team entered for the Competition may protest against any breach of the Rules made by any other team and this protest must be lodged by her within one week of the date when she had knowledge that a breach had occurred. All disputes shall be settled by the Committee whose decision shall be FINAL. Dates for ALL fixture alterations to be notified to the Hon. Secretary. Results of all matches, in detail, to be sent to the Hon. Secretary. A Shield, B Shield and Plate matches being “all square” after 18 holes shall be recorded as halved but any match played in the Quarter-finals, Semi-finals and Finals shall be played to a conclusion – until a team result in obtained. Any matches remaining on the Course shall be informed of the team result but may play to the 18th if both players wish to do so and the result recorded. ALL COMPETITORS MUST NOTIFY THE OFFICIAL IN CHARGE, OF THEIR RESULT, BEFORE MEETING UP WITH THEIR RESPECTIVE TEAM MEMBERS OR BEFORE LEAVING THE COURSE. THE OFFICIAL SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SEEK THE RESULT. A team, B team and Plate competitions: (a) Clubs shall be divided into Groups, in a manner decided by the Committee, each Club playing at home and away. The Draw for the Groups of competing teams to be made at the A.G.M. (b) The winners of each Group shall play off for the Final in a manner decided by the Committee and determined by the number of Groups. (c) All matches in the Group stages of the Handicap B Competition MUST be finished by the LAST WEEK IN JULY to allow for the quarter-finals to be played. (d) The Finals to be held during the month of September. |
