The 2007 Junior Balfour Event escaped the grip of the weather
as host club Withington produced a course in remarkably good condition
thanks to the magnificent efforts of the greens staff in the hours leading
up to the event. It was a stroke of good fortune for the winner James Wright from Worsley Golf Club who only took his place following the withdrawal of one his club members. James who is 15 from the Worsley Golf Club has been playing golf for 4years and is currently at Bridgewater School. The prize for the Best Gross goes to Connor Murphy playing off 5 handicap from Denton who came in with a Gross 74 which given the conditions was a superb score. The top girl was Rachel Hawkins from Withington playing off 11 handicap who made the best use of home course knowledge to came home with a nett 70.
