Playing for the first time in the competition John and his partner Mark were very much a last minute pairing as Mark stepped in for his father Stan who was forced to withdraw through injury.

The two 5 handicappers from the host club Worsley made local knowledge pay dividends as they came home 4 up to win by one from the Swinton Park pairing of Nick Waring and Ian Watson.

Both Swinton Park and Altrincham Golf Clubs were well represented providing two pairing each in the top six places.

Barrie Elliott and playing partner Bob Kenyon from Prestwich also made it a day to remember finishing 1 up

The players paid tribute to the quality of the course at Worsley and the quality of the competition.
